- Access. A usable cleanout keeps it simple. Without one, gaining access adds time before any repair starts.
- Depth and distance. A defect eight feet from the cleanout is a different job from one at fifty.
- Cleaning required. Cast iron thick with scale needs descaling before resin will bond, and that is its own step.
- How many defects. One is a point repair. Four is a conversation about lining the whole run.
The arithmetic worth doing. A single point repair is clearly cheaper than a full liner. Several on one line can reach the same total while leaving aging pipe between them, so you pay full-liner money and keep the parts that will fail next. The camera footage is what settles it, not the quote.
