A sleeve, also called a sectional liner or point repair, rebuilds one damaged section of pipe from the inside instead of lining the whole run. It suits a single crack, a broken joint, or one root intrusion point. It costs less than a full liner but only fixes the section it covers.
When a sleeve is the wrong choice
A sleeve fails when the damage runs past the section it covers. If the camera shows cracks at three separate joints, a sleeve at each one costs more than lining the whole lateral, and every untreated joint stays a future call. A sleeve also cannot fix a collapsed section, a belly that holds water, or a joint offset past the pipe wall. Those need full sewer pipe lining, pipe bursting, or a dig.
